Electricity-pylon-012.jpg‘Act Fast! Before energy crisis looms’ was the emergency call from Energy chief Petilla to all Filipino establishments for the happening in summer 2015.

Energy prices play a significant role in the cost structure of all commercial and industrial establishments, with them incurring over millions in annual energy bills. Peaking energy costs in 2015 mean establishments of all sizes need to understand and manage energy use to keep a lid on overheads!

Energy saving technologies can make substantial inroads into those bills, but understanding which technology will reap the best rewards and finding the upfront finance for installation can be challenging.
The most effective and low-investment method establishments can do to reduce costs and face the deficiency is through upgrading existing equipment like lighting, refrigeration, air conditioning systems, on-site generators and building management systems.

HiGreen LED lighting has been working with both industrial and commercial companies to make changes that will help them save on energy for years to come. The technology transformation in lighting system, at its best, can ensure cost-effective and stable operation and help companies build a strong defense against the upcoming energy crisis.

Electricity-pylon-012.jpgToshiba Philippines, Inc was one of the first factories to transform its lighting system to LED earlier in 2014. They installed energy efficient HiGreen LED T8 fluorescent lighting and slashed its lighting bills by 65 percent. The factory benefited from high performance lighting in their production line, conference and other facilities and the new equipment also resulted in maintenance savings which are 8 times greater than those of traditional fluorescent lamps.

Robin Co. Ltd, the leading promotions, food packaging and sourcing supplier in Asia, also invested about Php500,000 in lighting improvements to achieve energy cost savings at its warehouse in Quezon City.

Philippines Pizza Inc. (franchise owner of Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen) made the change to HiGreen LEDs for energy saving in over 100 stores and become crisis-resistant thanks to the early action. LED tubes give their stores the ability to cut both lighting and air-conditioning costs thanks to LED less heat emission. Their savings also include re-lamping and maintenance costs in 5 years.

It is important to know how bright LED lights are in watt- equivalents and select the best application for each lighting subject. HiGreen proposes our product by checking the equivalent lumens - a measure of brightness, light distribution in the assigned space, compatibility with the existing fixtures and suitable light color temperature. The table at right shows how many lumens you should be looking for depending on what kind of light you're replacing.

For example, in replacement for traditional fluorescent 40W tube at 1600 lm, you should use LED fluorescent 18W with the equivalent amount of lumens.
